Russians who refused to fight and be drafted into the army are to be forcibly sent to the front lines of the Kharkiv region, reports the US-based Institute for the Study of War. Deserters of the Russian army are sent to the hottest places, most of whom never return. They become proverbial cannon meat.
Deserters end up as cannon meat
Those Russians who refused to go to the front despite orders are forcibly sent near Kharkov. According to the rule, instead of ending up there, they should face trial for desertion or refusal to obey orders. This type of practice was reported in the Russian opposition press, which determined that most such people were sent near Donetsk and to the north of the Kharkiv region in May.
As we read in the Verstka newspaper – court cases of disobedient soldiers are canceled, physical violence is used against them or they are threatened with weapons to force them to the front. About 170 men were to be sent to Kharkiv in this way.
The Russians have been pushing in that direction for several weeks, trying to break through Ukrainian defensive positions. Initially they succeeded and captured several border villages, but later the Ukrainians stabilized the situation, stopping the march of the Kremlin army several kilometers from the border.
Delays in arms deliveries to Ukraine continue
Moscow’s troops, however, are gaining more square kilometers by the day, as Ukraine suffers delays in the delivery of Western weapons.
The heaviest fighting is currently taking place near the village of Lipci, about 30 km from Kharkov. The capture of this village would enable the Russians to bombard Kharkov with artillery guns.
