Ukrainian officer from Pokrovsk: “I’m exhausted, but I don’t want my child to fight in 10 years” [VIDEO]

– “We are extremely tired. To the point that no normal person could even imagine it. Ukrainian infantry are titans. We have been fighting for three years against a very strong enemy. We’ve had enough and we wish this war would end, but at the same time, we realize that there will never be peace with Russia. They will never stop, and I don’t want my child to have to pick up a weapon and go to the front in 10 years like I do now. That’s why we will keep fighting until the world understands this and helps us. We’ve had enough of burying our friends,” says Captain Yevhen Oropai of the Ukrainian National Guard’s Rubizh Brigade, in a conversation with Khrystyna Lutsyk.

Situation in Pokrowsk is extremely bad

The soldier is currently fighting on the front line in Donbas, and his unit is stationed near Pokrovsk. Despite positive news in the media, Captain Oropai does not confirm that the situation on this part of the front is good. “The roads toward the zero positions are impassable. You can’t move on them with any vehicle, whether regular or armored, because in the blink of an eye, it is attacked and destroyed by drones. FPV drones are currently the biggest curse on the front, as they can reach up to about 25 kilometers from the zero line. The danger zone is now much larger than it was just a few months ago on the front,” explains the Ukrainian soldier.

Pokrovsk has no logistics

Logistics is a problem. “Even water for the soldiers at zero has to be delivered by drones because it’s otherwise simply impossible. Ammunition, food—everything is delivered by air only. What do we need? Long-range weapons, so we can push the Russians back, destroy their depots behind the front, and their communication and supply routes. Without this, we don’t stand a chance in the long run, because they overwhelm us not only with drones but also with human forces,” Captain Oropai claims.

“We want to sincerely thank all Americans who continue to support us today, as well as the people from European countries. Anyone with any sense knows that Ukraine won’t be the last. The Kremlin has shifted its entire economy into wartime mode and won’t stop at Kyiv,” says our interviewee.
