Putin announced his peace plan. Here’s what he wants

Vladimir Putin on the day before the start of the World Peace Summit on the war in Ukraine. He wants Russia to annex, and the international community to accept by treaties, the annexation of several regions: the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhia and Crimea. On top of this, Kiev’s full dependence on Moscow. In the absence of agreement on Putin’s plan, according to the regime’s media in the Russian Federation, “the West is facing an apocalypse.” Putin, by the way, denied again accusations of war crimes in Bucha in 2022. In addition, the latest poll of support for Vladimir Putin is published. What do you think are its results?

All this is told by Yeddy Moravetsky in his daily propaganda press release from Moscow. Headlines from 14.06.2024, the 842nd day since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Propaganda press release from Moscow

“The West’s victory over Russia rests with six dead bodies. According to the behind-the-scenes organizers of the G7 summit in Italy, which began yesterday to the applause of their pocket media, the event is intended to be symbolic and momentous. The main purpose of the summit is to show Putin that ‘the West remains determined to confront Russia’s arsenal of autocracy.’ (…) But what of that, when of the seven G7 leaders, only Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is showing any signs of life. The only adequate response to the gasping of the Western corpses is to increase the production of silver bullets and raise the cross of light and truth even higher. For on our cross of light and truth the whole world looks with hope.”

“Putin is offering Ukraine another peaceful solution: Russia will cease fire as soon as the Ukrainian army begins to withdraw from new regions – (…) the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. (…) ‘For that, let them formally abandon their plans to join NATO. This is enough. Immediately, literally in the same minute, we will order a ceasefire and negotiations. I repeat, we will do it immediately’. (…) The Russian leader also added that the conclusion of peace requires the neutral, non-nuclear status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification. He stressed that this is Russia’s fundamental position, which ‘everyone generally agreed with at the Istanbul talks in 2022.'”

How does the Ideology of modern Russia differ from that of the Soviet Union?

If Soviet ideology was monolithic, the current ideology of the Russian authorities appears loose, combining seemingly incompatible elements – for example, the cultivation of the Soviet past alongside the idealization of Tsarist Russia. Nevertheless, Russian propaganda has shown significant success, attracting a wide range of political forces, sometimes even those hostiles to each other.
