Kremlin rubs its hands: Georgia with pro-Russian law on foreign agents

[PostPravДa] Georgia has become a focal point in the Russian media, especially after the president of its parliament signed the controversial “foreign agents” law. Georgian citizens have been protesting for weeks, warning that this law will align their country more closely with Russia. In contrast, Kremlin propaganda claims that the law aims to “strengthen Georgia’s political, economic, and social systems and protect against external interference.” Additionally, Russian media outlets highlight criticisms of Europe from the Hungarian prime minister and sensationalize fears of an “invasion of Canadian super pigs” in the United States.

All this is what Jedrzej Morawiecki tells you about every day. Here is a propaganda press release from Moscow. Headlines from 3.06.2024, the 831st day since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Propaganda press release from Moscow: Georgia with law on agents

The speaker of Georgia’s parliament has signed the “foreign agents” law, designed to strengthen Georgia’s political, economic, and social systems and protect against external interference. Upon publication, an electronic portal will be launched where organizations receiving over 20% of their income from abroad must register. Under this law, non-governmental organizations and media outlets will be classified as foreign-influence organizations. These entities must file income and expenditure declarations with the Justice Ministry annually in January. Failure to submit will result in a GEL 25,000 fine (about $9,000). Continued non-compliance will incur an additional monthly fine of GEL 20,000 (about $7,200).

Russia is once again leading the movement for a just world free from oppression and colonialism, echoing the legacy of the Comintern. As Sergei Naryshkin, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service, stated, “Russia is at the forefront of global changes to the world order, drawing on the achievements of the Communist International.” Thus, history has come full circle.

“The United States is threatened by an invasion of Canadian super pigs.”
